With Christmas Crafts shows popping up all over town, everyone is out shopping for beautiful handmade crafts and art. Craft shows have become a popular way for consumers to tap into the handmade and unique products industry. Craft Shows are no longer selling just crocheted items or pom-pom snowmen… mom entrepreneurs and artisans are heading into this market to sell their latest invention and creations.
You will find everything from beautiful and trendy handmade bibs and clothing for your baby to toys made out of organic material. However, with the frenzy of shoppers, you will also find that pushing your stroller will be almost impossible. Whether you are a shopper or an exhibitor at one of these Craft Shows, a good infant carrier will save the day!
A good Infant carrier will give you both your hands free as well soothe your child during the hustle and bustle of shoppers, holiday music and bright lights of the different booths. To make sure you are well prepared, pack a light snack for both you and your baby (if they are not still nursing). For toddler aged children, packing some small toys to entertain them is always important.
Most styles will have places you can either attach the toy so that it doesn’t fall onto the ground. If not, I usually purchase the link-rings and hook the toy to the carrier or my belt loop. It is important to pack a few toys as their attention span is usually short.
Often times, the backpack carriers are the best as it puts your child up a little bit higher so that they can see. Also, there is a lot of storage in them so that you can put all your little purchases in the different compartments. My favorite is still the Ergo baby carrier as I have the option to have my child on the front or the back of me.
As a past exhibitor in these types of shows, I know that our infant carrier definitely saved the day and was an important part of our booth. It meant that we could stand for hours at these shows selling while my infant slept calmly because I was carrying him. Also, when it came time to nurse him, I was able to do it discreetly within the carrier.
Hope this year, before you venture out to the Crafts Shows, you pack your favorite infant carrier.
