How walking benefits both Mommy and baby
There are many benefits to going for a walk with your baby in your favorite baby infant carrier. Whether you choose a sling, a backpack, baby front carrier, or baby wrap, the benefits are the same.
1. Fresh air and exercise are always a great way to clear your mind and make your body feel good. Some women after child birth may experience some postpartum blues. It has been proven that by hiking or walking with your baby you are getting the moderate exercise necessary to help relieve postpartum depression.
2. Using a carrier versus going for a walk with a stroller gives your baby the closeness and helps you to bond with your newborn.
3. Hiking and walks with your baby in a carrier gives your newborn the motion needed to soothe and rock them to sleep (or at least calm them). This mimics the motion they experienced over the 9months in your womb as they swayed back and forth while you were in motion.
4. And lastly, if not for your baby, then for yourself. The benefit of “YOU” time is essential for new mothers. With your baby soothed, you can get some time to just breathe and enjoy the day in the woods or at the park.
So get out there and enjoy the great outdoors with your new bundle of joy!
