Invest in a baby carrier to make shopping easy!

It would be lovely if all babies just slept in their infant car seats while you went shopping. All you would have to do is lift them out of the car in their car seat, onto the shopping cart and you could shop for hours! Well, I discovered very early on, that babies don’t always do things as planned. That’s when I realized how my small investment in a baby carrier made shopping and my life so much easier.

Babies are just calmer when they are held. Babies that tend to fuss almost instantly calm when you pick them up. But, you can only hold onto a baby for so long before your arms get tired. Also, especially when grocery shopping, it is nice to have both hands free to pick and choose your produce, or lift heavy things into the cart.

The dual carriers like the Ergo baby Carrier or the Evenflo Snugli Front & Back allow you to initially wear your baby in the front while they are small and more fragile. Also, at that stage, they tend to sleep a lot more. But as your baby starts to grow and get a bit bigger, it is nice to have the dual option of carrying your baby on your back. That way, your baby can look around but still feel securely held by you.

At the same time, the ring sling carriers are great for the newborn stage as the baby is cradled onto one side. As they get bigger, they straddle your hip and are comforted by holding onto you while their weight is being distributed by the carrier.

Also, with most baby carriers, you are given the option to cover the baby’s face or at least turn them away from being over stimulated with all the new things out in the world. I know I sometimes even get over stimulated when going down the cereal aisle at my local grocery store!
